This page explains what information EricsTechDesk (ericstechdesk.com) collects, why, and what you can do about it. If you have a question, email me at contact@ericstechdesk.com.
What I collect
Contact form
When you use the contact form, I collect your name, email address and message. Your submission is stored on this website and emailed to me so I can reply. I only use it to answer you.
Newsletter
When you sign up for the newsletter, your email address is sent to MailerLite, the service I use to send it. You will get a confirmation email first, and you are only subscribed once you confirm. Every newsletter has an unsubscribe link.
Comments
If you leave a comment, the name, email address and website you enter are stored with it, along with your IP address and browser information to help catch spam. Your email address is never shown publicly. WordPress may check your email against Gravatar to show a profile picture; see the Automattic privacy policy.
Server logs
Like most websites, the server that hosts this site (Hostinger) keeps standard logs such as IP addresses and the pages requested, for security and to keep the site running.
Cookies
This site does not use advertising or analytics cookies. WordPress may set cookies to remember your details if you leave a comment, and when site administrators log in. If I add analytics in the future, I will update this page first.
Links and affiliate links
This site links to other websites, including YouTube, social networks and online stores. Some links may be affiliate links (see the affiliate disclosure). When you follow a link, the other site may collect information and set cookies under its own privacy policy.
Who I share your information with
- Hostinger, which hosts this website and its email.
- MailerLite, if you sign up for the newsletter.
I do not sell your personal information.
How long I keep it
Contact messages and comments are kept until they are no longer needed or you ask me to delete them. Newsletter subscribers stay on the list until they unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information I hold about you by emailing contact@ericstechdesk.com. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and I do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If this policy changes, I will update this page and the date at the top.
